Come to ME

These words started to came to me at church last Sunday but I wasn’t able to finish and I wasn’t sure if it was God or not. So I set it aside. Returning to it, I do feel it was God. I’m just stepping out in this so it takes courage to share. I’m the first one to say I may not always get it right! I hope that the following will encourage and lift you up. He LOVES you so so much!

I long to speak to my people (those who don’t know me)
If only their hearts would be open
If only my children who call me Abba would open their mouth to speak of me

I come close enough that they should feel my breath
But they don’t
I come close enough that they should hear my heartbeat
But they don’t

At heaven’s gate
They will say, but Lord! Where were you? Why didn’t you make yourself known to me?

I have.

You feel the longing
You feel the yearning for something more
You’re restless and yet you ignore it
You’re empty but you won’t admit it
The thing, the person, the focus of your eyes, you think you need
WILL NOT put an end to your hunger

I am calling you!
Yes, you can ignore it
Yes, you can keep the yearning you feel a secret
But I am everywhere

I am calling You! You!
Come to Me!
I will not hide from you
I WILL be found by those whose hearts are turned to me

I will give you rest
I will give you rest from the search

If you seek me, you WILL find me

I long to spend time with YOU
You and Me, Me and you
The way it was meant to be

Jeremiah 29:13
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord.”

Jeremiah 24:7
“I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD. They will be my people, and I will be their God, for they will return to me with all their heart.”

Deuteronomy 4:29
“But if from there you seek the Lord your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.”

1 Chronicles 28:9
“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.”

Longing

“Much of this world’s angst is actually a longing for the perfection of heaven.”

“BLATANT SIN IS OFTEN A MISGUIDED ATTEMPT TO FILL THAT EMPTINESS.”

Angel sings with Jason Upton

The video about is an amazing testimony of an angel singing with Jason Upton. One of his band members shares about the night. If you have never heard of Jason Upton, he is a very talented singer and song writer. You can check out his music in iTunes. The story goes that while Jason was warming up for a concert at a college auditorium in Alexandria, Louisiana a 12-foot angel joined in! Lucky for us the recording equipment was on for sound check and captured the whole thing. I realize this may sound fake so check it out for yourself. Below is the recording. Keep in mind that Jason was the only one on stage – no else was singing with him.

I adore this song. I recommend listening to it with headphones and eyes closed.

It’s a great one to listen to when you can’t fall asleep or you just want to sit still before Him.

*UPDATE 3/14/2016

First, Fly is available on cd! I was unaware of that at the time of my original posting. Check out Jason’s album, Remember, song #7 Fly.

Song #7, Fly

I received word that the testimony is not fully accurate. Below is excerpt from Jason Upton’s site (jasonupton.com). It’s about the experience in Jason’s own words.

“There is no explanation for the last song, Fly, except that during the “do you see what I see” portion you will hear a soaring voice over the top of the other voices (6 minutes and 11 seconds into this section). At first we thought it was an ambient microphone picking up an overtone. During mixing all of the channels were searched and we found that this ‘boys choir’ type voice was not on any of the other microphones, but was bleeding through my own microphone ( which would make it impossible for it to be an overtone because it was not present on any of the other microphones). If you listen carefully you will hear it again later in this section; it’s not quite as clear because, unfortunately, my voice is prominent on that microphone. Interestingly, a boy came up to me that night and told me that he saw an angel standing about fifteen feet behind me… and another one behind our drummer. At the time I doubted that; but after hearing the ‘voice’ alone during the mixing process with no other instruments around it, I do not doubt it anymore.”

“Angels” by Brian Johnson

I’ve listened to this song so many times and it never gets old.
“Come sing that the Lord is good”
“Come sing that His love endures”

Oh my heart melts. While running errands I’ve pulled up in parking lots and stayed in my car until this song was over.

Song is from the cd, The Loft Sessions. If you click on this picture, it will take you to their website which has more videos.

Thankful

Today I got annoyed at someone’s crinkling cough drop wrapper in church… it wasn’t just a quick unwrap and pop in the mouth but a 30 minute unwrappppp. haha Have you ever been there? Forgive me Lord! I was reminded of this poem.:

  • I am thankful for the loud snores of a husband because he is home with me, not in bed with someone else.
  • For the taxes that I pay, because it means that I am employed.
  • For the mess to clean after a party, because it means that I have been surrounded by friends.
  • For the dirty dishes I have to clean because it means I have food to eat.
  • For a lawn that needs mowing, windows that need cleaning, and gutters that need fixing, because it means I have a home.
  • For all the complaining I hear about the government, because it means that we have freedom of speech.
  • For the parking spot I find at the far end of the parking lot, because it means I am capable of walking and have transportation.
  • For my huge heating bill, because it means I am warm.
  • For the lady behind me in church that sings off key because it means I can hear.
  • For the pile of laundry and ironing, because it means I have clothes to wear.
  • For the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours, because it means I am alive.

Today’s message in Jesus Calling by Sarah Young

I wanted to share today’s page out of Sarah Young’s devotional book, “Jesus Calling”. I find today’s devotional especially powerful. It’s amazing how God speaks to us, exactly where we are. I haven’t looked at this devotional (I have several) in over a week. I felt drawn to read today’s message and wow! I wanted to share it. Hope you enjoy it! Also, if you haven’t checked out Sarah Young, I highly recommend that you do!  She’s an amazing woman of God whose writings are full of anointing. I often times feel like Jesus is directly talking to me through her words and the timing is spot on. How great is our God!  🙂

“March 9th

Rest in my radiant presence. The world around you seems to spin faster and faster, till everything is a blur. Yet there is a cushion of calm at the center of your life, where you live in union with Me. Return to this soothing Center as often as you can, for this is where you are energized: filled with My Love, Joy and Peace.

The world is a needy place; do not go there for sustenance. Instead come to Me. Learn to depend on Me alone, and your weakness will become saturated with My Power. When you find your completeness in Me, you can help other people without using them to meet your own needs. Live in the Light of My Presence, and your light will shine brightly into the lives of others.”

-all credit belongs to Sarah Young

Scriptures that follow:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness.” – Galatians 5:22

“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”  – 1 John 4:12

———————————————————————————————————————————-

It is my prayer that I may learn to walk in love with friends, family, coworkers, strangers, and those who are difficult to love – the ones who have a lot of rejection or the world see as unloveable. 1 John 4:11, “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”

In closing I thought I would share something that I have pinned next to my mirror. It’s written on a random piece of paper from over a year ago. At the time I didn’t fully believe the words but oh, I so wanted to. I’m not exactly sure where I got it from, I believe it wrote it down while listening to a particular broadcast on the radio my mom recommended. I treasure the things that I write on random pieces of paper the most. It’s believe it’s the most authentic expression of our heart cry. I’m happy to say that in a year’s time my belief has caught up to my longing. Christ is my everything. You can take away whatever you want, including my body, but nothing will touch what I carry inside. My love relationship with my Savior.

  • Christ is my significance
  • Christ is my self-worth
  • Christ is my security
  • Christ is my life

Dear Lord, Thank you for giving me life and all that I need to experience it fully! Teach me to always draw my life from you. Amen

You are loved!

-Bethany

“Prophetic Culture” by Kris Vallotton

Powerful short video by Kris Vallotton. Kris shares what he believes is a prophetic statement about the church out of 1 Samuel 9 and 10 when Samuel calls out what is already in Saul’s heart.

“I am the seerer,” Samuel replied. “Go up ahead of me to the high place, for today you (Saul) are to eat with me, and in the morning I WILL TELL YOU WHAT IS IN YOUR HEART.” – 1 Samuel 9:19

Some of my favorite quotes from Kris:

“When people encounter us, the church, they encounter their destiny. The thing they were supposed to be in the first place, the glory that was lost.

People don’t need to know they’re sinners. They need to know there is something good in them. Something the King died for. The King didn’t die for junk.

You were born with a purpose for God. It’s already in your heart.

God knows how to look past the front and look into their heart. Call out their destiny!”

Enjoy!
Bethany 🙂

Psalm 16:11

“You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.” – Psalm 16:11

Oh how I love Psalm 16:11. When you seek Him, you WILL find Him! How sweet the presence of Jesus is. No matter what my outside circumstances are, my heart enjoys the joy and peace of His presence. This blog is a way to share videos, books, and thoughts with friends and family.
