Today’s message in Jesus Calling by Sarah Young

I wanted to share today’s page out of Sarah Young’s devotional book, “Jesus Calling”. I find today’s devotional especially powerful. It’s amazing how God speaks to us, exactly where we are. I haven’t looked at this devotional (I have several) in over a week. I felt drawn to read today’s message and wow! I wanted to share it. Hope you enjoy it! Also, if you haven’t checked out Sarah Young, I highly recommend that you do! Β She’s an amazing woman of God whose writings are full of anointing. I often times feel like Jesus is directly talking to me through her words and the timing is spot on. How great is our God! Β πŸ™‚

“March 9th

Rest in my radiant presence. The world around you seems to spin faster and faster, till everything is a blur. Yet there is a cushion of calm at the center of your life, where you live in union with Me. Return to this soothing Center as often as you can, for this is where you are energized: filled with My Love, Joy and Peace.

The world is a needy place; do not go there for sustenance. Instead come to Me. Learn to depend on Me alone, and your weakness will become saturated with My Power. When you find your completeness in Me, you can help other people without using them to meet your own needs. Live in the Light of My Presence, and your light will shine brightly into the lives of others.”

-all credit belongs to Sarah Young

Scriptures that follow:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and faithfulness.” – Galatians 5:22

“No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.” Β – 1 John 4:12

It is my prayer that I may learn to walk in love with friends, family, coworkers, strangers, and those who are difficult to love – the ones who have a lot of rejection or the world see as unloveable. 1 John 4:11, “Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.”

In closing I thought I would share something that I have pinned next to my mirror. It’s written on a random piece of paper from over a year ago. At the time I didn’t fully believe the words but oh, I so wanted to. I’m not exactly sure where I got it from, I believe it wrote it down while listening to a particular broadcast on the radio my mom recommended. I treasure the things that I write on random pieces of paper the most. It’s believe it’s the most authentic expression of our heart cry. I’m happy to say that in a year’s time my belief has caught up to my longing. Christ is my everything. You can take away whatever you want, including my body, but nothing will touch what I carry inside. My love relationship with my Savior.

  • Christ is my significance
  • Christ is my self-worth
  • Christ is my security
  • Christ is my life

Dear Lord, Thank you for giving me life and all that I need to experience it fully! Teach me to always draw my life from you. Amen

You are loved!

  1. Thanks Bethany! I’m a teacher, and I get to my classroom early to spend some time in His Presence. I was googling for a Jesus Calling word, and your blog came up. Thank you for your words, they’re allowing God to frame my day with Peace, which is needed for all the tasks I need to do today. God bless!

yes when i have a vertical line up with my mind and heart i”m in his rest, it’s a great feeling words can not express it..Everything you do can be “spending time with God” if he is invited to be a part of it and you stay aware of his presence.. The world is going way too fast’ Galatians 5:16 if you live by the spirit you will not gratify the desires of the flesh… I also feel that God is speaking to me as well when I read Jesus Calling love it…

Ty Sara for not keeping Jesus to yourself…

  10. I have a spiral calendar with the date and a message on it for every day of the year. I love this calendar because as i read it every morning after family has gone to school and work, I READ the message God has prepared for me for that day. As i read it, it is as if GOD is talking to me directly. I love this calendar. This is my time with God. I sometimes get so involvoled in it, I keep reading several days ahead. At the bottom of each page, you can find the verses to what is writen on each page. This has been such a blessing to me, it also reminds me to read more in my bible. Isuggest anyone who wants a closer walk with GOD to get one. May GOD bless you all.

Thank you for sharing Bethany. Many trials can turn us to thinking other things and with all the tugs of the ungodly parts of this world thats going on in my life right now, that was definitly something I needed to be reminded of. Today, I was on a kick of what supports I have right now and being brought back to the fact that all I need is Christ, just puts that smile back on my face and gives me back that feeling of hope again. Normally, I do my daily devos out of the Jesus Calling and today, I had to basically run out the door, as my feet hit the floor and I have not yet been able to get home to dive in,so, as I sit here, waiting for that time, I googled and got brought to your message. I thank God everyday for His faithfullness and love! May God bless you in so many ways today as well as for anyone else that has read this page today or for anyothers that are struggling today.

Good morning Bethany I read Jesus Calling almost daily followed by the scripture and into the Bible. However this last week has been a struggle. It hasn’t been my priority, which never works in my favor when I deny time with God. Thank you for the reminder He is ALWAYS waiting patiently for his children to come to Him.
